Our Story
Ashbourne Golf Club was established in 1991 when a group of individuals – mainly resident in Ashbourne – decided to resurrect the project of developing a local Members' Golf Club. A founding committee was formed. They advertised the idea and held a series of meetings in various surrounding locations, which attracted an overwhelmingly positive response from those who attended and sufficient potential members signed up.
Work began immediately and Ashbourne Golf Club was opened for play in June 1994. The official opening (performed by Des Smyth) took place shortly afterwards. The priority of the founding committee and their successors has been the quality of the course. Consequently we have developed a golf course that is the envy of many and one that we are all proud of.
In 2019, our 25th year we completed an exciting redesign of our front nine holes, enhancing the challenge presented to members and visitors.
We are very proud of what we have achieved over the last three decades.
